With a background as a professional dancer and teacher, Kate’s wisdom
in understanding the mind, body connection was developed through
her elite and rigorous training which began at age four. At fourteen Kate extended her ballet regime to incorporate full-time training maintaining
a rigorous schedule for two years. During this time she performed as an accompanying dancer with the Australian Ballet Company while also realising the reality of her growing body becoming “too tall” to be a ballerina.
Branching into other styles of professional dance and determined to understand the relationship between mind, body and spirit, Kate began studying various personal development and self-actualisation philosophies and methodologies. Her research quickly became a life-long interest and passionate pursuit.
Soon enough Kate was teaching performance dynamics and meditation to full-time dance students. She educated the dancers on how to utilise the power of their mind and presence in life and performance settings as a way of assisting them cope with the hardships of the competitive industry.
In 2000 Kate moved to Byron Bay on the east coast of Australia with an endeavour to build and develop the formalised dance culture that she had been a part of for many years. As a qualified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, Kate built her dance & performing arts school integrating and emphasising personal development and dance excellence.
Currently in its ninth year, the school has seen many of its students fulfil their dreams. Kate’s talent as a teacher and facilitator of transforming and empowering the human mind has been recognised as an asset not only to the performance industry, but also creative individuals in business.
Kate’s teachings and methodologies are currently being published into her first book and her wisdom is regularly shared nationally through articles on “Dance Life Australia”.
